Mobile, intelligent, exceptional – FLAXTHOR 2.0

The new FLAXTHOR 2.0 system design is finished, and since March 31, 2023, we are ready for construction. In excellent cooperation with KRÖNING Automation, the development was accomplished in no time at all. Herewith we start into a new era. With this milestone, we are changing from a start-up to a globally active operator consortium and are thus revolutionizing the recycling of photovoltaic modules.

Pictured here are our three equipment containers, which are connected to each other. Starting from the left, each panel first goes through the preparatory steps such as the removal of dirt, the junction box and the frame. Then exposure takes place with a high-intensity light pulse in the middle container. Lastly, the material composite is separated from one another in the last container and the single-variety recyclables obtained are collected in appropriate containers. The trio is accompanied by a supply container (seen in the back left). On an area of approx. 30m x 15m we achieve a cycle time of a sensational 30 seconds with this system. When operating in a 3-shift system, we can therefore process up to 15,000 tons of end-of-life photovoltaic modules per year.

For 2023 we are already planning the construction of 5 mobile plants with this blueprint, which will then be used worldwide. To this end, we cooperate with strong international partners. But this is just the beginning, many more are to follow in the coming years, so that from 2030 we will already be able to operate with a system contingent in the two-digit range.
